About The Center on Health, Aging, and Disability
Who We Are
The Center on Health, Aging, and Disability is an interdisciplinary research center that
supports research, education, and outreach addressing the many facets of health, wellness,
and quality of life. We serve as a catalyst by identifying innovative research themes and
developing research teams. Read about our mission.
Founded in 2008, we are housed in the College of Applied Health Sciences, at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Learn more about
our advisory committee, staff, and members.
What We Do
We produce and support research. We organize research teams, and assist
those teams by helping to identify funding, and by providing support services. We supply seed
money for promising pilot research projects through our Incentive Grant Program.
The Disability Research Institute is housed within
The Center. A cooperative agreement between the Social Security Administration (SSA) and
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Disability Research Institute (DRI)
developed a national network of partners producing high-impact research in disability.
